Person pulled from water at Goderich pier, pronounced dead

(GODERICH, ON) - The person pulled from the water at the Goderich pier, Wednesday morning, has been pronounced dead.
July 31, at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Huron County OPP, Huron County Paramedic Services, Goderich Fire Department and the Canadian Coast Guard (JRCC Trenton) responded to the report of an unconscious person in the water at the Goderich pier.
The individual was located by the Canadian Coast Guard and transported to the Goderich Hospital where she was pronounced deceased after extensive life-saving efforts by emergency responders and hospital staff.
Officers investigated to find out more information about the woman's identity. Some time later, a family member reported her missing and the deceased individual was identified as a 66-year-old female of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township.
Police are working with the Office of the Chief Coroner to determine the cause of their death.
