Kincardine man charged in Walkerton fatality Oct. 24
(MUNICIPALITY OF BROCKTON, ON) – A 21-year-old Kincardine man has been charged, following the investigation into a fatality Oct. 24 in Walkerton.

The South Bruce OPP, Walkerton Fire Department  and EMS paramedics were called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision along Durham Street East in Walkerton at 1:30 a.m. A 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe was westbound on Durham Street East when it left the roadway, struck a light standard and came to rest on the bank of the Saugeen River.
 

Six occupants of the vehicle were treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, but 20-year-old Bradley STRADER of Walkerton was pronounced dead at the scene.
 

The South Bruce OPP continued the investigation with assistance from the South Bruce OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Unit, OPP West Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit and the Office of the Coroner.

The investigation resulted in the arrest of Jonathon LEVERENZ, 21, of Kincardine, Dec. 1. He has been charged with dangerous driving, dangerous driving causing bodily harm and dangerous driving causing death, and was held in custody pending the results of a bail hearing Dec. 1.
