Culture and Christmas are theme of Bervie W.I. meeting

Culture and Christmas were the theme for the Dec. 2 meeting of the Bervie Women's Institute.

The Roll call - a Christmas story or poem and a stamped Christmas card for shut-ins - was answered by 11 members.  It was nice to have Vi Thompson from RVilla with us.

In lieu of a gift exchange, a collection was taken for the Kincardine Food Bank. Sandra MacDonald reported that volunteer award information has been submitted.

A report on our ROSE Program, “Eggsellant Offerings,” was given by Dianne Wilson – an interesting, well-attended evening. Islay Eby presented a flower to Mildred Griffith in appreciation for all the work she does on the flower beds at the hall.

Several members read Christmas readings and a sing-song of Christmas carols was enjoyed by all.

The next meeting will be at Islay Eby’s, Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious potluck luncheon following the meeting.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
