Kincardine Legion Corner
A big thank you to our wonderful community! We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported our 'Jersey Day' meal deal, Wednesday, in honour of our comrade, Doug Kennedy. It was great to see people with their sports jerseys on, connecting and enjoying a toast to Doug.
Because of your generosity and enthusiasm in ordering a whopping 211 meals, we were able to raise an amazing $2,228 for the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation in Doug's memory. Thank you all for being a part of this effort! As well, a huge thanks to our chef Terri Hogsden, and bartender Steve Musselman, and all the volunteers in the kitchen who helped make this day run smoothly.
Paul Green won $927 in the
Catch the Ace draw. He chose Envelope No. 7 which contained the Jack of Diamonds. Next week’s jackpot is an estimated $8,000, so be sure to get your tickets. Remember that 50 per cent of all ticket sales support Huron Shores Hospice, the Kincardine Legion, and the Tiverton and District Lions Club, for local projects.
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, Booth seemed to be the lucky last name, as Les, Elaine and Steven all had a win. Rose Cowan took home $150 in the 50/50 draw. Congratulations to all the winners.
One more reminder,
183 Eats at the Legion is looking for your input. If you have any thoughts or suggestions about new menu ideas for the fall, feel free to send an E-mail to
183eats@gmail.com; we would love to hear from you. Remember lunches continue at the Legion, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from Noon to 2 p.m., and specials are usually posted on our Facebook page.
As for upcoming happenings, tickets will go on sale Sept. 9 for the Legion’s annual
Lulu’s Band Hootenanny, Nov. 30. Remember you can follow our Facebook page for the latest updates on Legion events and ticket sales. Hope everyone has a Happy Labour Day.
