Stewart urges school board to stop “clowning around” with new high school in Kincardine
Bill Stewart (right) of Inverhuron took his one-man protest to Kincardine District Senior School, on the first day of school.
Dressed in a clown outfit, he held up a sign that directs the Bluewater District School Board to “Stop clowning around with our new high school.”
“After five years of no real results, I decided to protest in front of KDSS on the students’ first day,” said Stewart. “Our community has been patiently waiting for any announcement that a spade would be in the ground, starting the construction of our new high school.
“The school board has had the funds - $26-million - since 2019. We, as a community, need to speak out and get some action from the school board.”
He added that the local trustee, Jan Johnstone, needs to provide a strong voice for the community at the board level.
“This lack of action from the school board hurts our growth in the Municipality of Kincardine,” said Stewart. “Let's not wait any longer to have our new high school built. Send your comments to our local trustee or to the board, itself.
“I will continue my campaign until we have our new school.”
