Veteran, Kincardine Legion member Don Thorne dies at the age of 79
Don Kenneth Thorne of Kincardine, veteran and member of the Kincardine Legion, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, in his 80th year.

Beloved husband of Nancy Prior. Dear father of Dean (Kim) Thorne of Whitby. Loved “Grumpa” of Meghan and Nicholas. Also survived by his brother, Victor Thorne of Windsor; his sister, Marilyn Balous of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan; and step-son Michael Prior of Oshawa.

Predeceased by his parents, Lyons and Mary (Bergman) Thorne; his brother, Gary Thorne; brother-in-law, Joe Balous; and sister-in-law, Peggy Thorne.

Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Monday, Dec. 7, from 1-2 p.m. A Royal Canadian Legion Service and memorial will be held in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Jim Weir officiating.

Interment, Victoria Memorial Gardens, Windsor.

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
