South Bruce OPP report impaired drivers, one arrested twice in 24 hours
DRIVER FAILS ROADSIDE DEVICE
(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) - Sept. 10, at 11:08 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol, checked on a vehicle along Stauffer Street in Lucknow.
The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. A roadside approved screening device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was placed under arrest and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Matthew BOYLE, 35, of the Municipality of Kincardine was charged with Operation while impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus).
DRIVER ARRESTED TWICE IN 24 HOURS
(KINCARDINE, ON) - Sept. 5, at 11:22 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a possible impaired driver along Tie Road in the Municipality of Kincardine.
The involved driver displayed signs of impairment. Officers believed that the driver was impaired by drug. A Drug Recognition Evaluation was completed at the detachment.
The driver was issued a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Sept. 6, at 12:11 p.m., a member of the South Bruce OPP stopped an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on Campbell Street in the Township of Huron-Kinloss. It was determined that the driver was the same individual who was charged just hours earlier. The driver was once again placed under arrest.
Gregory OSTERTAG, 41, of Orillia was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired (Drugs)
- Driving while under suspension
- Possession of a schedule I substance - Methamphetamine
