Seven young entrepreneurs launch businesses in Bruce County
Seven young entrepreneurs have launched their businesses in Bruce County, part of the
Summer Company program.
One of them is from Kincardine, Lincoln Bui, who started
Kincardine Student Lawn Care.
The county's Summer Company program provides young people, aged 15 to 29, the opportunity to start their own summer business. Each entrepreneur receives:
- A $3,000 grant to start the new business
- Business training on a variety of topics, including sales, marketing, bookkeeping, and more
- Mentorship opportunities from local business leaders
“We are pleased to provide aspiring young entrepreneurs with the tools and support to start their own small businesses through this year’s Summer Company Program,” said Jeffrey Loney, manager of economic development at the county. “Congratulations to all the entrepreneurs who took on business ownership this year.”
Primarily funded by the Province of Ontario, and under the mentorship of the county’s economic development department, the program serves as a catalyst for young people to start their entrepreneurial journey and provides them with the necessary tools for success.

The Summer Company program has played an important role in supporting the growth of young entrepreneurship in Bruce County since its inception in 2017. Over the years, the program has helped 35 local youth embrace their passions, gain hands-on business experience, and make an impact on the entrepreneurial community in Bruce County.
