​Kincardine Hospital Radiothon raises almost $100,000

The Radiothon barbecue has raised $98,000 in support of the Kincardine Hospital.

Held Friday at Sobeys Kincardine, the event welcomed several groups, businesses, organizations and individuals, presenting donations toward a hematology analyzer worth $91,500.

Initially, the goal was also to raise $18,500 for a state-of-the-art ECG machine. However, the Kincardine Legion has donated enough to cover that purchase.

People were welcome to enjoy hot dogs and bottles of water, by donation.

Roland Archer of Shoreline Classics kept the tunes going throughout the event, which ran from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and featured various donors on the radio station.

The Clothes Hamper Thrift Store volunteers presented $17,000.

The Tuesday Night Mixed Dart League donated $1,500.

The Kincardine Lions Club presented a donation of $500.

The Quilters of Aintree Trailer Park donated $1,500.

The Tiverton Lions Club donated $1,000.
