Almost 20 youth enter food bank basket category at Ripley-Huron Fall Fair
The Ripley-Huron Fall Fair saw 18 entries in the category for junior decorated food bank basket.
Co-ordinator Kathleen Ackert says this is the most entries since the special class was added to the fair eight years ago.
The category is open to youth up to 18 years of age, and requires the exhibitor to provide a decorated container displaying five non-perishable food items that would make up a meal. The entry is judged on appearance and whether the provisions would constitute a meal.
The baskets will be donated to the Kincardine Food Bank.
Ackert said there was a great turn-out in this year's junior section, with 575 craft entries
