End-of-Life Planning Workshop set for Kincardine, Oct. 16
We often avoid planning for the inevitable. But by not preparing for the end of life, we leave our families with difficult decisions.
Imagine your loved ones having to guess what your wishes might be during a stressful and emotional time? This could create unnecessary stress and, in some cases, even cause rifts within families. This is not the final gift we want to leave for our families.
Have you ever thought about what a “good” death would mean for you? Or the kind of care you’d want if you were too ill to speak for yourself? These are tough questions, but they’re questions worth answering while you’re healthy and in control.
Making decisions in the midst of a crisis — sick, scared, and in a hospital — is not ideal. It’s much better to plan ahead, while you can still communicate your wishes clearly to your family. This way, you’ll have peace of mind knowing that your choices will be respected.
Yes, planning for the end of life can feel overwhelming. That is why Huron Shores Hospice has created an End-of-Life Planning Workshop to help you create a clear path including what needs to be considered and how to prepare a plan that will be meaningful for you and your loved ones.
We’ll talk about how to open the door to important conversations and help you make the most of your time — whether it’s creating lasting memories or thinking about the legacy you want to leave behind.
The next workshop will be held Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 6:30-9 p.m., in the Miller Insurance Room at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Let’s create a final gift that is meaningful for you and your family. The best last gift you can give to your loved ones is getting your ducks in a row, now!
