Phyllis O’Reilly won $1,700 in the Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 47 which contained the Eight of Hearts. The Ace of Spades remains in play, and the progressive jackpot continues to grow! The Saturday Meat Draw saw Pierrette Laland winning $212.50 in the 50/50 Draw, and Gayle Pretty was the double-dipper! Just a reminder that the next Mega Meat Draw is Dec. 7.

Our annual Poppy Campaign kicks off Friday, Oct. 25. This year we have ‘tap boxes’ at Bruce Power, which hopefully, makes it easy to show your generous support of this important campaign. We definitely appreciate all donations, and please remember the Poppy Funds go directly to helping our veterans. An example of this was the Legion’s recent donation of almost $12,000 toward a new EKG machine at the hospital. Thanks to all our volunteers who help at this time of year with the campaign, including the Cadets and Scouts! For those wondering, tickets WILL be sold at the door, on a first-come, first-served basis for the Grey Matter Oktoberfest, Friday, Oct. 25, from 6 p.m. to Midnight. Tickets are $30 each and include dinner and entertainment! Get your Lederhosen ready!

It looks as if everyone is very excited for the Legion’s annual Lulu’s Band Hootenanny, Nov. 30, as tickets are now SOLD OUT. If you have tickets and want to start to brush up on some lyrics so you can sing along all night long, you can check some of the songs the Lulu’s band plays, by visiting the website at www.thelulusband.com/songlist.

Get your costumes ready for the Halloween Bingo, Oct. 31, at the Legion. There will be five $50 gift certificates to be won for some of the best costumes. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the first game starts at 6:45 p.m.; and food is available.
