Tracy Primeau to head up 2028 Kincardine Reunion
Tracy Primeau has agreed to take on the job of chairperson of the 2028 Kincardine Reunion.
Dave Patterson and Jennifer Cook, co-chairpersons of the 2018 reunion, made the announcement at a meeting, Monday afternoon, at the Kincardine Legion.
“I’m really excited about this,” said Primeau. “In my retirement, I’ve always wanted to do more with the reunion, so I’m more than happy to be in charge.”
However, she likes the idea of having a vice-chairperson, to assist her with this event. So, she announced that Steve McAllister has agreed to take on the job.
McAllister said that he and his wife moved back here five years ago and he is excited to be part of organizing the reunion.

Also attending the meeting, were Rick Clarke who was in charge of special events in 2018; Alana Rozon who took care of the bar, food, licensing, fund-raising and emergency services in 2018; Sandra Reid who was standing in for 2008 chairperson Laura Haight; Gord Thompson who was Kincardine’s deputy reeve in 1998; Brad Kirkconnell who was chairman of the 1998 reunion; Jake Hunter who worked the ways and means section with his brother, Charlie, in 2018; Barb Wilson who was secretary in 2018; and Amanda Goetz who managed the reunion website in 2008.
The group discussed logistics, various committees and managers, and recommended a new position of volunteer co-ordinator.
It was agreed that the executive positions, such as treasurer and secretary, should be in place by 2025, with planning under way and fund-raisers scheduled by 2026. A contest for the logo and slogan for the 2028 reunion, should be under way in 2025.
Kirkconnell advised Primeau to take it slow and easy and maintain a steady pace; check from the 2018 reunion about what worked well and what did not work well; and be sure to add the committee's own new twist to the event.
Other things to consider are contacting the Municipality of Kincardine and making a delegation at a council meeting, contacting the South Bruce OPP and Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services, as well as the organizers of the Ripley Reunion which is slated for 2025.
Held every 10 years, the Kincardine Reunion is slated for Aug. 3-7, 2028.
