Gary Lambert won $1,845 in the Catch the Ace draw. He chose Envelope No. 24 which contained the Five of clubs. A big thank you to everyone who buys tickets each week, which helps our jackpot grow. At the Saturday Meat Draw, Joanne Hervieux was the double-dipper, and the winner of the 50/50 draw was Lynn Steinhoff who took home $208. Congratulations to all the winners!

The Legion’s Halloween Bingo was great fun, with some fantastic costumes (right). Five $50 gift cards were given out during the night to recognize the effort attendees put into their costumes.

The Poppy Campaign continues, and we want to thank everyone for the support for our veterans. If you are a Veteran, or know a Veteran and could pass this message along, please read this invitation:
We would be honoured to have veterans join us at Kincardine District Senior School for a Remembrance Day Assembly, Friday, Nov. 8, at 10:15 a.m., in the school gym. Afterwards, join us at the Kincardine Cemetery where Grade 10 students will be placing poppies at veterans’ graves, beginning around 12:45 p.m. as they participate in the “No Stone Left Alone” program. Students and community members will be invited to place poppies on the headstones of military members interred at the Kincardine Cemetery to acknowledge and show gratitude for their service and sacrifices.

There are two public Remembrance Day services scheduled this year. Everyone is invited to attend – Lest We Forget:
 

• Sunday, Nov. 10, beginning at 2 p.m., at the Tiverton Cenotaph in Lions Memorial Park.
• Monday, Nov. 11, beginning at 10 a.m., in the Legion Hall, with the placing of wreaths outside at the Legion Cenotaph following the service. There will be some snacks offered in the Legion Hall afterwards.

• Nov. 16: Legion Craft and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Nov. 24: Family Dinner with roast beef; doors open at 5 p.m.
• Nov. 24: Monthly General Meeting at 2 p.m.
• Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Party with the Adam Cousins Band. Tickets go on sale starting Nov. 12 at the Legion Bar. Tickets are $50 each for Legion members, and $60 each for non-members. Please note, for the first week of sales (Nov. 12-19), tickets sales are open to Legion members only. Beginning Nov. 20, non-members can purchase tickets for this event. This year, we will once again be offering bus rides home, with drop-off points in Kincardine, Tiverton, and Point Clark.
