Police seize about $200,000 worth of drugs, Dundalk resident arrested

(BROCKTON, ON) - The OPP has seized a large quantity of suspected cocaine as a result of a search warrant.

Nov. 6, members of the West Region OPP Community Street Crime Unit executed search warrants at addresses in Dundalk and Clifford; the accused was taken into custody outside of Walkerton without incident.

As a result of the investigation, police seized approximately 1.9 kilograms of suspected cocaine, $12,000 in Canadian currency, and a motor vehicle. The combined estimated street value of the seized controlled substances is $200,000.

Daniel SMITH, 32, of Dundalk has been charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:
 

• Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
• Failure to comply with undertaking, 145(4)(a) CC (two counts)

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice, Nov. 12.
