Santa Claus and Christmas Parades have started this weekend and there are sure to be more as Christmas is fast approaching. So, if you want to start some Christmas shopping, it is worth your while to stay local and get some unique and beautiful gifts for family and friends.
Congratulations to Diane McCulloch and Bonnie Maschke for opening the Christmas Store at 46 Queen Street in Ripley again, featuring the talents of area artisans.
Thank you to the local business owners whose stores are well-stocked, who are very knowledgeable about their products and services, and have some great shopping options. The annual craft and bake sales are also great places to find all those special gifts!
Congratulations and thanks to Kincardine for hosting the annual Hometown Christmas celebration, Friday evening. It looks and sounds as if everyone had great time!
We are hoping our friends in hospital and recuperating at home will be out and about again soon.
We extend our sympathy to the family of Valerie Morningstar of London and formerly of Lucknow.
Friday, Lucknow hosted another blood donor clinic in the area. Thank you to all those who attended, volunteered and of course, gave blood. It is a great feeling to give the gift of life!
RIPLEY AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
Saturday, directors with the Ripley Agricultural Society attended the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) Fall District 10 meeting in Rocklyn, sharing and learning from other agricultural societies. Ripley's maple syrup entry by Steve Embry placed third at the district meeting.
The Ripley Agricultural Society fall fair ambassadors will be attending local Santa Claus Parades in the coming weeks. The Society was pleased to support the Bruce County 4-H Dairy Club members in their trip to the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto earlier this month.
The Society has been planning its fair schedule with the theme next year, “’Til the Cows Come Home!” Mark your calendars for Sept. 26-28, 2025.
