Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary Holiday Sale and Tea Room raises almost $12,000
The South Bruce Grey Health Centre – Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary welcomed a huge crowd to its annual Holiday Sale and Tea Room, held Friday and Saturday, at the Inverlyn Lake Estates club house, south of Kincardine, raising almost $12,000 for equipment at the Kincardine Hospital.
The event featured numerous Christmas home decor items and decorations, tea towels, serviettes, cards, jewellery, pillows, stuffed animals, knitted scarves and mittens, and so much more. After the patrons were done shopping, they could enjoy coffee or tea and some delicious treats in the tea room. They could also purchase trays of goodies to take home.
Hospital gift shop conveners Tracy Robinson and Brigitte Rauket did an excellent job of organizing the sale, with assistance from members of the hospital auxiliary.
Tea room conveners Ginny Ross, Ruth Savage and Nadine Pasichnyk, and their many helpers, created a lovely, relaxing spot to enjoy the tasty homemade treats and a hot beverage.
Besides a surprise visit from Santa Claus, there two were additions to make this year’s event even more exciting.
Firstly, there was the raffle of a Christmas basket of “spirits,” donated by Dotty McClelland, along with a few other Christmas gifts. The basket was won by Elaine Holmes.
Also Peggy LaChance set up a table to sell her Epicure products and graciously donated 10 per cent of her profits to the auxiliary. The next order for the Epicure Christmas Boxes is due Nov. 29, in order to arrive in time for Christmas.
When the dust had settled after the doors closed Saturday, the Holiday Sale and Tea Room had raised an amazing $11,815.58!
The auxiliary thanks Sheila Elliott for arranging the free use of the club house, as well as all the auxiliary members and volunteers who worked diligently and helped in so many ways to make this fund-raiser such a resounding success!
Special thanks to the wonderful community for supporting this event. All the money raised goes toward purchasing new equipment for the Kincardine Hospital.
