Huron Shores Hospice end-of-year campaign gets boost from Bruce Power
The Huron Shores Hospice end-of-year campaign, “Home Is More Than a Place, It’s a Feeling,” has received a boost. Bruce Power has generously offered to match the first $8,000 raised. So $1 becomes $2, giving double the impact.

“Bruce Power is a proud sponsor of this organization’s end-of-year campaign,” said John Peevers, director of community and media relations and economic development. “Everyone facing end of life deserves the deepest respect, care and dignity that only hospice care can provide. This campaign allows our community to share in the joy of giving these special gifts to those in need during this holiday season.”

“Contributing to this campaign is more than just a donation, it’s a way of supporting the compassionate, home-like care that every family deserves,” said Cathy Herbert, executive director of Huron Shores Hospice. “Thanks to Bruce Power’s generous $8,000 matching sponsorship, each contribution helps us continue to provide comfort, peace, and a sense of belonging for our guests and their families. Together, we can create a future where every moment at the end of life is filled with dignity, respect, and the warmth of home.”

Donations can be made in the following ways:

  • On-line: Visit www.huronshoreshospice.ca to make a secure on-line donation.
  • In person: Drop off donations at 24 King Street North, Tiverton, Ontario (Tiverton Park Manor).
  • By mail: Send donations to Box 250, 24 King Street North, Tiverton, Ontario, N0G 2T0, once mail service resumes*.

*Due to the uncertainty around mail delivery at this time, we recommend making donations on-line or dropping them off in person if you would like to receive a tax receipt for 2024. If mail service resumes before the year ends, please note that delays could result in donations being received in 2025, and they would then be receipted for the 2025 tax year.

Huron Shores Hospice is a charitable, not-for-profit, volunteer-driven, community-funded residential hospice, providing free quality end-of-life care to residents of Kincardine, Huron-Kinloss, Saugeen Shores, and surrounding areas. The hospice also provides free programs for Grief Support, End-of-Life Doula services, Death Cafes and End-of-Life Planning workshops.
