​Bruce County now offers electronic transportation permitting

The Bruce County transportation and environmental services department has announced that residents and businesses can  now submit and manage over-dimensional load-moving permits on-line, using Permit Central, through Transnomis.

An over-dimensional load permit is required when vehicles and loads travelling on county roads exceed the dimensions and/or weight limits as outlined in the Highway Traffic Act. Each permit has specific conditions that must be adhered to.

The new digital road permit system, Permit Central, streamlines the permitting process and significantly reduces the time and costs for both the applicant and the department. Applicants can quickly access their applications and all associated document uploads, communication logs, change logs, and more. They will be kept informed of status changes automatically and can retrieve historical data as needed.

Permit Central is also fully integrated with Municipal 511. Applicants can view road closures, construction, truck routes, and cautions as they map their route, allowing for adjustments to plans and timing to work around known road-use conflicts.
