​Good crowd turns out for new Tiverton Cookie Walk at Lions Hall

A good crowd gathered outside the Lions Hall in Tiverton by 9:30 a.m., Saturday, waiting for the doors to open on the new Tiverton Cookie Walk.

Organized by Chrystal Campbell and Glenda Webster, the event was held in support of the Tiverton Lions Club.

When the people were allowed in at 10 a.m., they quickly filled their boxes with cookies, squares and treats. There was a vast assortment of goodies, including decorated sugar cookies, shortbread, confetti squares and delectable marshmallow squares, as well as tarts and chocolate-covered licorice.

Volunteers were kept busy, refilling trays as fast as they were being cleared, while people selected from a delicious array of home-baked goodies.

The annual event was started in 2005 by June MacKenzie, and was held at Knox Presbyterian Church.
