Jim and Fran Farrell spent the first week of December with Chris Farrell and grandsons, Tyson and Cooper, at Stony Mountain. There were hockey games, judo tournaments and Christmas celebrations. On their tour, they enjoyed visiting with Delvin and Louise Szumulku of Stockholm, Saskatchewan, and with Monty Thompson at Gladstone on the Thursday.
The Reid and Husk families celebrated their early Christmas, Dec. 8. Everyone enjoyed getting together and sharing a good time.
PURPLE GROVE W.I.
The December meeting of the Purple Grove Women's Institute was held at the home of Marilyn Reid, with co-president Cheryl Bridge chairing the meeting. Ten members were in attendance. We heard that Marg McCready, our W.I. District secretary, had recently suffered a stroke. We wish her a speedy recovery and offer prayers for her.
The upcoming Christmas potluck and party was discussed. This will be held Dec. 20 at 6:15 p.m. at the Purple Grove Community Centre. We love a potluck meal were we can feast, sampling someone else's cooking and then enjoying the evening’s entertainment.
The Roll Call was “A craft or project that you have finished or plan on completing.” Sounds like the ladies are, and will be, busy.
Bonnie Boyle read the Scripture, followed by convener Dianne Clifford introducing Christine Roberts who instructed us on crafting and creating gift bags. There are some very inventive ladies in our group. Remember to thank the giver when you are lucky enough to be the receiver of one of those bags. Such fun and wonderful afternoon.
Lunch was provided by Betty Johnson and Janet Nixon who gave us such treats to enjoy, wrapping up with lots of fun and conversation.
President Cheryl Bridge thanked everyone and outlined the next meeting to be held at the home of Marilyn Reid, Jan. 8, 2025.
Merry Christmas and please be careful out there!
