Local school urges students to turn snow days into fun with Snowman Contest

St. Anthony’s School in Kincardine has been urging students to turn the past week-and-a-half of school bus cancellations and school closures into some fun with a Snowman Contest.

A post on Facebook, from the school, welcomes students to build the tallest snowman, the cutest, best traditional, or most creative.

“Get out and test your skills and enter this fun winter contest,” states the post. “Submit multiple categories from now through to Sunday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m., for a chance to win some awesome prizes: Book Fair bucks, Ice Cream parties and a take-home trophy!”

Students and their parents/guardians can E-mail photos of their snowman entry to sta.info@bgcdsb.org. Include the photo, your name and grade, and the category being entered. Entries are limited to St. Anthony’s School students only.

Winners will be chosen by the most “likes” on their original Facebook post on the St. Anthony's Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/stakincardine. Every new entry gets posted to the page. Judging to take place, via Facebook, Feb. 3, and winners announced Feb. 4.
