Ripley Wolves to face Erin Outlaws in first round of playoffs
The Ripley Wolves will begin their title chase at home, Friday, Feb. 7, at 8:30 p.m., against the Erin Outlaws.
The Wolves, who defeated the Outlaws, 8-4 and 7-3, during the regular season, finished the season with two overtime losses and an 18-0-2 record, good for first overall and seven points up on second-place Seaforth.
Game 2 will be in Erin, Saturday, Feb. 8, with time TBD. Game 3 will be at home, Saturday, Feb. 15, at 7:30 p.m., as part of the annual Ripley Winter Carnival.
Game 4 in Erin is still TBD.
MEURS WINS SCORING RACE
Wolves captain Garrett Meurs won the league scoring race comfortably, with 42 points (26 goals, 16 assists) in just 18 games played.
Wolves defenceman Todd Hellyer and forward Ethan Skinner tied for eighth overall in the points race, with 31 each. Hellyer is one of just two defencemen in the league to have more than 20 points this season.
Goalie Jason Hamilton finished tied for the league lead in wins, with 10.
