Incumbent Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson (above) is running for re-election in the Feb. 27 provincial election because she still has things to do for the people in this riding.

Representing the Progressive Conservative (PC) party, she was first elected in 2011 and since the PCs formed the government in 2018, they have brought $600-million worth of provincial investment to Huron-Bruce.

“And I’m not done yet,” says Thompson. “As long as I have a ‘to-do’ list and I’m working on delivery of those items, I will be that strong voice on behalf of Huron-Bruce at Queen’s Park.”

Among the recent achievements in the Kincardine area, she says, are the expansion of St. Anthony’s School, the new high school in Kincardine which is now gaining traction, the redevelopment of the Kincardine Hospital, and additional funding for Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton.

Thompson fully supports the Feb. 27 election, even though it’s a year-and-a-half ahead of the scheduled one in June, 2026.

“We need to protect Ontario,” she says. “Given what we’ve seen of the leadership and actions from south of the border, they’re looking for any vulnerabilities. It’s important that we make sure we have a stable provincial government for the next four years, to stand up for Ontario. If we go to the polls now, then we can get back to work.”

Thompson says serving the people of Huron-Bruce is an incredible honour, and it’s something she never takes for granted.

“Together, we’ve made real progress — whether it’s improving health care close to home, expanding access to high-speed Internet, or creating opportunities for local workers,” she says.

“But there’s always more to do. I’m committed to rolling up my sleeves and continuing to work alongside our communities to ensure Huron-Bruce remains a place we’re all proud to call home.”
