Bruce County and Women’s House hosting annual International Women’s Day event
Bruce County’s Business to Bruce and Women's House Serving Bruce and Grey are hosting the seventh annual
International Women’s Day, “Accelerate Action: Breaking Barriers and Building Businesses,” Thursday, March 6, from 4:30-9 p.m. at Ainsdale Golf Course, south of Kincardine.
The seventh annual event will be an inspiring evening, with storytelling and networking paired with refreshments and appetizers.
Brandi Leifso, award-winning social impact entrepreneur, resilience advocate, author and international speaker, will share stories from her own journey rising through adversity at 21 to launch a beauty brand while living in a women’s shelter.
“Bruce County is proud to continue our partnership with Women’s House Serving Bruce and Grey to host International Women’s Day,” says warden, Luke Charbonneau. “This event provides an opportunity to spotlight local entrepreneurs and change-makers who are driving change in our communities while supporting an organization dedicated to protecting our most vulnerable, fostering positive outcomes for all involved.”
Organizers are also excited to have guest speaker Tracy Primeau, a mentor and role model for individuals in the energy sector, offering insights on diversity, women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Indigenous relationship-building through her company, Agile Bear.
“We have always been greatly supported by the International Women’s Day event,” says Danielle Bois, community relations and funds developer with Women’s House. “This year’s theme really speaks to us, as we see change and growth in our community. We look forward to sharing our stories, experiences and connecting at this year’s event. We hope to see some new faces and invite everyone to come and support this great cause.”
