Fincher’s in downtown Kincardine to close this summer
Fincher’s in downtown Kincardine is slated to close this summer.
Owners Dawn and Tom Fincher posted a retirement notice to their valued customers and the community, on the Fincher’s Goderich Facebook page, Saturday.
The notice states that the Kincardine store will remain open until approximately Aug. 31, while the Goderich store will remain open until approximately Dec. 31.
“For nearly seven decades, Fincher’s has been more than just a store, it has been a part of the Goderich community,” states the notice. “Since our beginnings in Goderich in 1956, and the expansion to Kincardine in 1978, we have been honoured to serve these incredible communities, alongside our dedicated staff.”
Now, after 69 years and three generations of the Fincher family working in the stores, the time has come to begin the process of retiring and closing both locations, say the Finchers.
“This is not a decision we have made lightly, as Fincher’s has been at the centre of our lives for so long,” they state. “We have been privileged to be part of your milestones, traditions, and everyday moments, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.
“While we prepare for this transition, we remain committed to offering the same quality products and service until our final days of operation.
“To our past and present staff, and to each and every customer who has walked through our doors, thank you. Thank you for your loyalty, your kindness, and for making Fincher’s a place filled with warmth, community, and purpose for so many years.”
