Kincardine’s Coldest Night of the Year runs Feb. 22 at Legion
The United Way of Bruce Grey is welcoming everyone to join in the annual Coldest Night of the Year Walk, Feb. 22, beginning at 4:30 p.m., at the Kincardine Legion.

This event is also being held in Saugeen Shores, Meaford, Grey Highlands, Owen Sound, and Hanover.

As part of a nationwide initiative, spanning more than 170 cities in Canada, this walk raises essential funds to support individuals and families struggling with hunger, homelessness, and poverty-related challenges.

"Come and support our most vulnerable community members by getting out for a walk on a winter night,” says Kristy Andre, fund-raising champion for the United Way of Bruce Grey. “This is something we are proud to put on with our partners as it not only raises essential funds but also creates awareness around what’s really going on out there. It shows those who are struggling that we’re here for them. By signing up and fund-raising, you’re taking meaningful steps to make a real impact in our community.”

In Kincardine, the goal is to raise $30,000 for the United Way and its partner, the Kincardine Good Food Box Neighbour-to-Neighbour Initiative.

So far, $15,541 has been raised (51 per cent of the goal). Appreciation to the event sponsor, Bruce Power.

To sign up, visit: cnoy.org/location/kincardine.

Everyone is welcome to join in! Sign up to walk two kilometres or five kilometres, and help raise funds for people in need. You can participate as a walker, team leader, volunteer, or sponsor. Every step and every dollar raised helps provide vital support to the most vulnerable community members.

Fund-raisers who collect $75 (youth under age 17) or $150 (adults) will receive the iconic Coldest Night toque as a special thank-you gift.
