Well, we can’t seem to find places to put all this snow, and no one has been able to find the Ace of Spades either. Allie Vander Hoek won $3,706 in this week’s Catch the Ace draw. She chose Envelope No. 27 which revealed the Jack of Spades. Next week, the jackpot will be an estimated $95,000! Remember, when buying tickets, you must be in Ontario, and this applies to on-line ticket sales as well.

At the Saturday Meat Draw, Kathy Johnston and Mike Elliott were both double-dippers. If you are a frequent reader, you might remember Mike was a double-dipper last week as well. Phil Gauthier won the 50/50 draw and took home $173.50. Congratulations to all the winners!

Saturday, Feb. 15, Branch 183 was proud to host the annual Legion public speaking contest. A big thank you to all the volunteer officials, judges, timers, validators, and organizers who helped run this event. As well, we thank all the competitors and their families and friends who came out to support them.

Competing in the junior division, were Olivia Andrusiak, Janna Gabor, Sophia Greco and Hazel Hicks, who all gave amazing speeches. In the intermediate division, also giving great talks on some wonderful topics, were Isla Bell Palmer, Mila Henhoeffer, Daniele Smith, Gauri Tokekar, and Everlie Waite. Congratulations to Janna and Everlie who placed first in their divisions and will move on to compete in the Zone C-1 contest at Branch140 in Clinton, March 1. Good luck in the next round!
