Highway 21, Kincardine, closed for fourth day in a row
Highway 21, from Grand Bend to Southampton, remained closed for the fourth day in a row, Thursday (Feb. 20), as crews worked to clear heavy snow drifts, due to the blowing and drifting snow that hit Monday (Feb. 17).
This would be a record for 2025, except for that five-day Highway 21 closure at the end of January.
School buses were cancelled for Kincardine and Ripley, but the schools were open, except for Kincardine Township-Tiverton Public School.
In the Municipality of Kincardine, Sideroad 5S, between the Southline and the Huron-Kincardine West Boundary, remains closed until further notice.
Planning ahead for Friday, Feb. 21, the municipality is advising the following:
- The Davidson Centre will be on its regular schedule, with all programs and drop-in activities running.
- The Davidson Centre pool will open at 6:15 a.m., with all regularly-scheduled activities and programs running, including swimming lessons.
- The municipal administration centre will be open.
- The Tiverton Sports Centre will be open.
- The Underwood Community Centre is closed until Thursday, Feb. 27, at 8:30 a.m.
At 7 p.m., the South Bruce OPP reported that Bruce County Roads 1 and 10 were open. Bruce County Road 23, from Bruce County Roads 15 to 20, is still closed.
Highway 21, from Grand Bend to Port Elgin, remains closed.
