Highway 21, Kincardine, closed for seventh day in a row
Highway 21, from Goderich to Port Elgin, remained closed for the seventh day in a row, Sunday morning (Feb. 23), as crews continued to clear heavy snow drifts, due to the blowing and drifting snow that hit Monday (Feb. 17).
By 5 p.m., the South Bruce OPP reported that Highway 21, from Kincardine to Port Elgin, had been re-opened. However, the section from Kincardine to Goderich remained closed.
Better weather is on the way, with warmer temperatures and rain Monday and Tuesday, but the snow and cold are set to return Wednesday and hang around for the rest of the week. Spring is less than a month away!
As of 10:30 p.m., Feb. 23, Highway 21 remains closed, from Kincardine to Goderich. However, the 511 website is reporting the highway is closed only from Amberley to Goderich. The police have yet to confirm this.
For those who decide to travel, keep your headlights and tail-lights on and clear of snow and do not drive on a closed road.
Remember to keep your speed down. “If you see snow, go slow.”
