Incumbent Lisa Thompson re-elected MPP for Huron-Bruce
Incumbent Lisa Thompson (above) was re-elected MPP for Huron-Bruce in Thursday’s provincial election, winning her fifth election by a landslide.
Thompson, who represents the Progressive Conservative Party, captured 50 per cent of the votes (24,461), well ahead of second-place Ian Burbidge of the Liberals with 13,703 votes, followed by Nick McGregor of the New Democratic Party (NDP) with 5,749 votes, Matthew Van Ankum of the Green Party with 2,727 votes, Zack Weiler of the New Blue Party with 2,065 votes, and Bruce Eisen of the Alliance Party with 206 votes.
First elected in 2011, Thompson said she was running for re-election because she still has things to do for the Huron-Bruce riding. She noted that since the PCs formed the government in 2018, they have brought $600-million worth of provincial investment to Huron-Bruce.
“And I’m not done yet,” says Thompson. “As long as I have a ‘to-do’ list and I’m working on delivery of those items, I will be that strong voice on behalf of Huron-Bruce at Queen’s Park.

“It is a genuine honour to continue to represent this riding of Huron-Bruce. You know what they say, home is where your heart is!
“To my family, supporters and the amazing local provincial PC riding association, I could never do this without you.
“Trust that I am committed to working with all levels of government to support and build our diverse and thriving local communities throughout the riding.”
Voter turn-out was 55.65 per cent, down from 63.5 per cent in 2022.
