Kincardine announces new doctor set to arrive as early as May
The Municipality of Kincardine has announced that
Dr. Yousry Soliman (above) has signed an agreement to join the Kincardine Family Health Organization as early as May.
In addition to his practice, Soliman will also be practising at the Kincardine Hospital.
This recruitment is part of the municipality’s successful participation in Practice Ready Ontario (PRO), an Ontario Ministry of Health pilot program, states a press release, issued Friday.
The program is designed to accelerate the integration of internationally-trained physicians into communities with high health-care needs. Kincardine is one of the first locations to successfully recruit a physician using this service.
The PRO program, which launched in 2023, removes the need for additional re-education programs. Like Soliman, all participating physicians undergo a rigorous 12-week assessment to ensure they meet the standards set by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. A three-year commitment to serving rural areas, such as Kincardine or northern communities, is a requirement of the program for participating physicians.
Soliman brings a wealth of experience to the community. He holds a Doctorate of Medicine from Cairo University Faculty of Medicine, and his career spans across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Toronto, Northern Ontario, and Bancroft. With a strong background in primary care, urgent care, and emergency services, he is well-equipped to serve the health-care needs of area residents.
He will be accepting new patients when his practice opens.

The municipality appreciates Bruce Power and the Society of United Professionals for their continued support of physician recruitment and retention.
