Bruce County’s energy transition initiative to help support local businesses
Bruce County’s economic development team has announced the energy transition initiative, a new support for local business owners who are adopting cleaner energy practices.
Launched Tuesday (March 4), the initiative provides services to assist business owners in adopting clean energy solutions, fostering innovation and partnerships and accessing resources to support their transition. The project is funded in part by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness.
The transition initiative provides local businesses with resources to shift from high-carbon energy sources to lower-carbon or clean energy alternatives. This initiative will build connections among local businesses, suppliers of clean energy technology, and services and funding organizations to support county businesses make this energy transition possible.
County businesses will have access to support, cutting-edge resources, training and guidance to help with energy transition planning. This includes direction on regulations and financial incentives, developing formal energy transition plans and workshops.
Leading suppliers of cleaner energy technology and funding organizations will be encouraged to participate to build direct connections with interested local business owners and partnership developments to build collaborative solutions.
Networking and connection opportunities will further support the development of capacity building and innovative solutions. Marketing and public recognition efforts will also be integrated into the initiative to increase visibility and showcase successes.

County business owners have the unique opportunity to lead the adoption in energy transition and leverage a network of resources, technologies, and expertise, to reduce their energy emissions and create more robust and sustainable businesses for the future.
