“Triple Black and White Cats” is next print in Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary fund-raiser
“Triple Black and White Cats” by Nova Scotian folk artist Maude Lewis, is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser, on display at Sobeys Kincardine.

This print features three of Lewis’ famous cat prints in which they are all surrounded by colourful tulips and blossoms. Lewis painted in vivid colours and, typically, her paintings were of animals, flowers or landscape scenes depicting the natural beauty of rural Nova Scotia.

The second print on display at Sobeys, is entitled, “Sacred Salmon” by Cecil H. Ivey. This print features two salmon in colourful patterns and blocks in the spirit of the Woodland School of Art created by Ivey. This particular art form was inspired by stained glass, and his palette tends to be muted with a trademark “white space” incorporated in every piece.

The print at the Kincardine Hospital is entitled, “Butterflies” by Maud Lewis.

The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “White Pine,” by A.J. Casson.

The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is entitled, “Marvel Bursting.”

The starting bid for each print is $215, and they are on display until Thursday, March 27.
