Tour of Kincardine raises $2,100 for Kincardine Trails Association

The 2025 Tour of Kincardine Bike Race will be held Saturday, May 31, beginning at 10 a.m. at Kincardine Harbour.

The event is a cross-discipline classic bike race over many of Kincardine’s single-track trails,  connected by various roads and paths. There is a short course route (10 kilometres) for beginners and a more challenging long course (30 kilometres).

The race is well-known in the Kincardine area, and is developing a reputation in the racing community outside of Kincardine, with three elite-level provincial riders competing last year.

Shane Hotchkiss has organized this race since 2017, and has raised more than $5,000 over the years to support Kincardine’s trails system.

The race route showcases many of Kincardine’s trails, golf courses, the Penetangore River, pine woods, deciduous woods, several parks and the entire length of the waterfront trail. Riders get to experience single-track riding, hard-packed surfaces, and in years like 2024, a fair amount of mud. Last year’s race had just over 100 registrants, many of them repeat riders from previous years.

The race begins at the North Pier/Harbour Street, Kincardine, and there is a post-race celebration at Grey Matter Brewery.
