Bruce Power and NA Engineering sign Master Services Agreement
Bruce Power and NA Engineering Associates Inc., a leader in multi-disciplined engineering consulting services, have signed of a three-year Master Services Agreement.

With a relationship that was first established in 2001, this agreement will allow NA Engineering to continue its support to Bruce Power's ongoing engineering needs and the recently-announced, long-term, incremental life-extension program where Bruce Power will continue to provide low-cost electricity while being Ontario's single largest source of low-carbon power as the province tackles climate change.

NA Engineering Associates Inc. was among the first suppliers to establish and maintain a local presence with its Kincardine office. From high profile projects, such as the 40-Year Infrastructure Renewal Plan and the recently-commissioned Fire Training Facility, where as the prime consultant NA Engineering undertook the conceptual, preliminary and detailed design for this world-class facility, the engineering firm has shown that even small- and medium-sized suppliers can make a positive impact to Bruce Power's success.

Of equal importance, NA Engineering provides ongoing efforts that contribute to the safe operation of Bruce Power's facilities including fire protection design, code consulting, and roof consulting services for the over three-million-square-feet of roofing that covers everyone and everything at site.

"We are looking for companies like NA Engineering that will partner with us and help develop innovative solutions," said Richard Horrobin, Bruce Power's vice-president of commercial services. "We have a clear plan for the long term and look forward to working with NA Engineering as we revitalize our nuclear fleet."

NA Engineering is a vocal advocate and supporter to Bruce Power's charitable causes, including the Easter Seals' Toronto Tribute Fund-raiser and the annual Charity Golf Tournament supporting the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation and the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.

"With engineering presence in Stratford, London, Kincardine and Markham, not only is it important to our firm to provide local technical expertise to our clients, we must also give back to the communities that we are a part of," said Nick Aroutzidis, NA Engineering's president and chief executive officer. Since 1996, NA Engineering has raised more than $350,000 to support a variety of local charities.

Recognition of the numerous benefits of this Master Services Agreement extends beyond these two organizations.

"This partnership is just more good news for Bruce Power and Huron-Bruce," said Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb. "With their proven experience in the nuclear field, NA Engineering will provide Bruce Power with state-of-the art technology to help maintain safe operations at Bruce Power and solidifying local jobs for years to come."
