South Bruce OPP report impaired drivers; and domestic dispute
TWO DRIVERS CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION
(KINCARDINE, ON) - March 22, at 10:49 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a disturbance in the area of King Street, Tiverton.
On arrival, police discovered that the subject of the complaint had been operating a motor vehicle. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver.
While investigating the initial matter, a second vehicle approached the area, nearly striking a police cruiser. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver of the second vehicle.
Both drivers were placed under arrest and transported for further testing.
David JEFFERY, 47, of New Brunswick, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Possession of a Schedule I substance, CDSA 4(1)
Benjamin NOWAK, 49, of the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - blood-alcohol concentration (80-plus), CC 320.14(1)(b)
- Dangerous Operation, CC 320.13(1)
Both accused drivers are set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice at a later date to answer to the charges.

INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE RESULTS IN CHARGES
(ARRAN-ELDERSLIE, ON) - March 21, the South Bruce OPP investigated a matter involving intimate partners in the Municipality of Arran-Elderslie.
Investigation determined that an individual attended a residence in violation of previous release conditions, and a verbal dispute ensued.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old individual of Arran-Elderslie has been charged with:
- Uttering threats to cause death, CC 264.1(1)(a)
- Unlawfully in a dwelling, CC 349(1)
- Fail to comply with release order, CC 145(5)(a) - two counts
- Fail to comply with probation order, CC 733.1(1)
The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.
