​Human remains, recovered in Southampton Harbour, identified as Brendan Martin
(LONDON, ON) - Police have identified the human remains, recovered in the area of Southampton Harbour, earlier this month.

A postmortem conducted at the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, identified the deceased as 32-year-old Brendan Martin.

Jan. 20, Martin was reported missing to Saugeen Shores Police Service. He was last seen in the early hours of Jan. 18, in Southampton.

March 16, human remains were located by members of the Saugeen Shores police. Members of the Saugeen Shores Police Service Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit, the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, OPP USAR CBRNE Response Team, and OPP Forensic Identification Services, assisted with the recovery.

The joint investigation is continuing by the Saugeen Shores Police Service Criminal Investigation and Drug Unit and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and OPP Forensic Identification Services.
