Highway 21 closed briefly due to structure fire
Highway 21, from Sutton Street to the Northline, just north of the Town of Kincardine, was closed for an hour-and-a-half, due to a structure fire, Tuesday, March 18.
Kincardine Fire and Emergency Services responded to the fire, dispatching both Kincardine and Tiverton stations, and requesting a tanker from the Ripley-Huron Fire Department, said fire chief Guy Gallant.
Once on the scene, a small smouldering electrical fire was located and extinguished quickly, he said. The fire caused minor damage and there were no injuries.
Crews were on scene for about an hour-and-a-half to ensure there was no fire extension, and to conduct an initial fire investigation. The fire is not considered suspicious, and no estimate of damage is yet available.
The South Bruce OPP was on the scene to assist with traffic control.
