​Kincardine remuneration decreases by almost $90,000 in 2024

Kincardine ratepayers shelled out $377,186.02 in remuneration for members of council, Bruce Telecom, and other boards and committees, in 2024. That's down by almost $90,000 from 2023, when the total was $464,634.22.

The main difference is the decrease in costs for the Bruce Telecom Board after the business was sold in March, 2024.

The report, as submitted by treasurer Roxana Baumann, was approved by council at the meeting Wednesday night (March 26), and states that council salaries, per diems, and expenses came to $331,711.86, up from $$327,768.28 in 2023.

Remuneration was paid as follows:
 

• Mayor Kenneth Craig received a total of $60,471.85 including $42,595.20 in salary, $2,520 in per diem, and $15,356.65 in expenses.
• Deputy mayor Andrea Clarke was paid a total of $39,362.40, including $31,080.41 in salary, $3,090 in per diem, and $5,191.99 in expenses.
• Councillor Beth Blackwell received a total of $33,826.84, including $24,532.33 in salary, $2,090 in per diem, and $7,204.51 in expenses.
• Councillor Rory Cavanagh received a total of $43,159.88, including $24,532.33 in salary, $2,931.28 in per diem, and $15,696.27 in expenses.
• Councillor Mike Hinchberger was paid a total of $27,879.30, including $24,532.33 in salary, and $3,346.97 in expenses.
• Councillor Doug Kennedy received a total of $25,882.84, including $16,320.88 in salary, $2,100 in per diem, and $7,461.96 for expenses.
• Councillor Jennifer Prenger was paid a total of $34,214.83, including $24,532.33 in salary, and $9,682.50 in expenses.
• Councillor Amanda Steinhoff-Gray received a total of $27,948.90, including $24,532.33 in salary, and $3,416.57 in expenses.
• Councillor Bill Stewart was paid a total of $34,131.30, including $24,532.33 in salary, $1,840 in per diem, and $7,758.97 for expenses.
• Councillor Stellina Williams received a total of $4,833.72, including $4,131.23 in salary, $310 in per diem, and $392.49 in expenses.

POLICE SERVICES BOARD
 

• Councillor Rory Cavanagh was paid a total of $700.21, including $567.24 in salary, and $132.97 for expenses
• Stellina Williams received a total of $613.14, including $567.24 in salary, and $45.90 for expenses.
• Sandy Donald received a total of $613.14, including $567.24 in salary and $45.90 for expenses.

BRUCE TELECOM HOLDINGS INC. BOARD
 

• Duncan McEwan received a total of $6,600, including $5,000 in salary, $1,000 in per diem, and $600 for expenses.
• Donald Stewart received a total of $6,600, including $5,000 in salary, $1,000 in per diem, and $600 for expenses.
• Tom Sullivan received a total of $6,600, including $5,000 in salary, $1,000 in per diem, and $600 for expenses.
• Robert Watson received a total of $7,850, including $6,250 in salary, $1,000 in per diem, and $600 for expenses.

SAUGEEN VALLEY CONSERVATION AUTHORITY
 

• Councillor Jennifer Prenger was paid a total of $1,980.44, including $1,605 in per diem, and $375.44 for expenses.
• Councillor Bill Stewart was paid a total of $1,363.48, including $1,065 in per diem and $298.48 for expenses.

WESTARIO POWER INC.
 

• Councillor Mike Hinchberger was paid a total of $11,345.85, including $8,556.70 in salary, $1,950 in per diem, and $839.15 for expenses.

HERITAGE KINCARDINE COMMITTEE
 

• Jaris Edwards was paid $1,057.89 for expenses.
• Sylvia Leigh was paid $150 for expenses.

Total remuneration was $377,186.01.
