We were pleased to welcome our latest Catch the Ace jackpot winner to the Legion Tuesday. Rosanne Roy and her husband came in from Georgian Bluffs to pick up her cheque for $120,047. With a new grandchild on the way, we’re sure they’ll find great use for their winnings. Congratulations, once again, Rosanne! Thank you to everyone who played in this last round and supported our charities: Huron Shores Hospice, the Tiverton and District Lions Club, and Kincardine Legion. There will be a short turn-around period, and we hope to start a new round of Catch the Ace in early May — so stay tuned!

We had a triple-dipper at the Saturday Meat Draw! Congratulations to Scott Rossi on winning three prizes. The 50/50 draw winner was Rod Shanks who took home a nice sum of $249. Our Mega Meat Draw will be May 3, and Hwy 19 will be providing the music.

Monday, the Kincardine Legion was proud to make a donation in the amount of $2,400 to the Kincardine Typhoon Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets to help with their program. Our poppy chairman, Bob Fletcher, was on hand to present the cheque, and all the Cadets were looking very sharp.

Mary sent me some great photos and wanted to give a big shout-out to some of our amazing volunteers:

  • First, a huge thank you to those who helped with the deep cleaning at the Legion in preparation for our District C Spring Convention. Your hard work has made the facility shine!
  • Secondly, a big thanks to the fantastic crew that organized the last Family Dinner, handling set-up, serving, and cooking alongside the Shaws. Much appreciated!

Friday’s Trivia Night was well-attended, with team ‘Sleuth of Beers’ winning the night in the end, with 64 points. Congratulations on 12 years of Trivia!

Our membership chairperson Kim wanted me to include a few notes:

  • Volunteers are needed for our Saturday Meat Draws, kitchen help for Celebrations of Life, and Thursday Bingo Barbecue. If you have some time to help and would like to volunteer, please send an E-mail to 05-183@legion.ca.
  • If any members believe they are owed membership pins, please send an E-mail to Kim at 05-183@legion.ca, and she will be sure to connect with you.

Here are some of our Coming Events:

A final note, remember we have new hours now and are open Monday to Saturday, from Noon to 10 p.m., and that’s why we have been able to add some music to our Saturday nights. Check it out, or just stay put after the meat draw.
