​Bruce County announces 2025 Household Hazardous Waste Days
Bruce County residents are encouraged to safely dispose of household hazardous waste materials as part of their annual home and property clean-up.

In support of this effort, county will host 13 Household Hazardous Waste Collection events at various locations across the county throughout 2025.

These events provide residents with a convenient and environmentally-responsible way to dispose of common hazardous items, such as:
 
  • Paints and stains
  • Propane tanks
  • Used oil and oil filters
  • Aerosols and solvents
  • Batteries and anti-freeze
  • Household cleaners
  • Fluorescent lights
  • Fertilizers and pesticides
  • Fuel and pool chemicals
  • Pharmaceuticals and fire extinguishers

2025 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule:

Southampton: 429 Peel St., Southampton Works Yard
  • May 3 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 27 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Kincardine: 140 Valentine Ave., Kincardine Public Works Yard
  • May 10 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • July 12 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Walkerton: 94 Bruce County Road 2, Bruce County Transportation Yard
  • May 31 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Sept. 20 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lion’s Head: 1252 West Road, Eastnor Landfill Site
  • July 5 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Paisley: 242 Canrobert St., Bruce County Transportation Yard
  • June 14 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Wiarton: 441048 Elm St., South Bruce Peninsula Works Garage
  • July 26 – 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mildmay: 169 Bruce Road 3, South Bruce Municipal Building
  • Aug. 9 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Tobermory: 71 McArthur Road, St. Edmunds Landfill Site
  • Aug. 16 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Lucknow: 545 Ludgard St., Bruce County Transportation Yard
  • Sept. 6 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Sauble Beach: 413 Municipal Road, Amabel Works Yard
  • Aug. 23 – 8 a.m. to Noon

Important Notes:

Commercial, industrial, agricultural waste, PCB materials, ammunition, and flares will NOT be accepted. Only containers, size 30 litres or smaller, will be accepted.

Waste must be delivered in disposable containers. Containers will not be emptied and returned (e.g., gas cans will not be returned).

Empty metal paint cans are recyclable through your Blue Box program.
