Rosewood RVilla in Ripley wins Golden Sock Award for best window display

Representatives of Community Living of Kincardine and District were at Rosewood RVilla Senior Living in Ripley, Wednesday morning, to present the coveted Golden Sock Award, recognizing the residents’ tremendous "Lots of Socks" window display which won this year’s contest.

The Golden Sock goes to the business that receives the most votes from the community for its "Lots of Socks" window display which supports, raises awareness and celebrates World Down Syndrome Day. This celebration is held March 21 each year. Rosewood RVilla received 399 votes for its “Hippity Hoppity from Sock to Sock” display.

“We love to participate in community events,” says Patti MacDonald, life enrichment and marketing manager. “The residents at Rosewood RVilla were hippity hopping from sock to sock in creating their Lots of Socks display.”

“I like to participate in this event to recognize our friends who have Down Syndrome,” says resident Lucille Fischer.

Kincardine Community Living also congratulates this year’s runner-up, the South Bruce OPP Kincardine detachment, for an incredible, interactive “One Ocean, All Abilities” display.

Thank you to each and every one of the 108 businesses that participated in this event, and for raising awareness, far and wide, with lots and lots of socks!
