Kincardine Legion Corner
This week,
Branch 183 donated our Kincardine Legion - Catch the Ace earnings back into our community. At a donation event at the Legion, we made donations to the following groups:
- Kincardine Football Association - $20,000
- Drop-In at The Bridge - $20,000
- Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band - $16,000
Thank you to these groups for all the amazing things they have done so far and will continue to do for everyone. A huge thank you, as well, to everyone who bought a ticket in the last round of
Catch the Ace. This money will make a huge difference in our local community, and you have all helped contribute. We hope to begin our next round of Catch the Ace in early May, so start saving for those tickets!

Once again, we had a triple-dipper at the
Saturday Meat Draw. Congratulations to Bruce Hedley on winning three prizes. The 50/50 draw winner was Michelle Elliott who took home a nice sum of $145. Congratulations to all the winners! Don’t forget, our next Mega Meat draw will be May 3, with Hwy 19 providing the entertainment.
Vimy Ridge Day is Wednesday, April 9, and everyone is welcome to attend our ceremony at the Kincardine Cemetery at 10 a.m. Our Legion Colour Guard will be placing the flags at the cemetery and setting them to half-mast in commemoration of Vimy Ridge Day.
In
Thursday Night Bingo news, we’re excited to announce that from now on, we will have a $1,000 jackpot each and every Thursday! We typically have food available before Bingo as well, and we try to post what will be available on the TV over the bar, whenever we can.
As for entertainment, this Saturday night, April 5, the Legion is hosting
Nuclear Vibes in the club room, from 6-9 p.m., which is great if you just want to hang around after the meat draw, or make your way down after dinner.
The following weekend, our branch is hosting the
District “C” Spring Convention, April 12-13. We have arranged entertainment for both the Friday and Saturday nights, and we want everyone to know that these events are open to the entire community - not just convention attendees:
- Friday, April 11 – TNT Boom, 7-10 p.m.
- Saturday, April 12 – Greg Pahl (8-10 p.m.)
Come enjoy some free music!
Don’t forget about the
Mudmen concert, April 26; it will be a blast. Tickets are on sale now at the Legion bar, and as we get closer to this event, ticket sales will definitely start speeding up; get yours soon so you don’t miss out.
Here are some other
Coming Events:
- Sunday, June 1 - We will be hosting a barbecue for our veterans and their families and caregivers. This will be much like our Christmas Veterans Dinner, but hopefully outside! Pass this date on to a veteran if you know one
- Tuesday, July 1 - Canada Day Celebration at the Legion, with Hwy 19.
Be sure to check out our April Events Calendar, which is posted on our Facebook page, as well as on our Legion Website at
www.kincardinelegion.com/.
