About 35 adults and youth joined local runner Jared Adams for his Run 4 A Reason campaign, Sunday morning.
The group gathered at the Davidson Centre to support Adams who is committed to run 10 kilometres per day for 100 consecutive days, raising money for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District.
Sunday's run was No. 31, and for every kilometre Adams runs, he is donating $1 to the agency that provides mentorship programs and services for Kincardine area youth.
Several members of Big Brothers and Big Sisters joined Adams Sunday, along with members of the Kincardine Peewee Girls hockey team and some of their siblings, and friends and family, said Shaun Carney, president of Kincardine Big Brothers and Big Sisters. Participants ran a distance of their choosing, with some running the whole 10 kilometres alongside Adams.
The support from the community has been overwhelming, said Carney. "Our GoFundMe has collected $1,500 going to Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kincardine and District, our Facebook video updates have been viewed thousands of times and this all helps us feel supported."
