​South Bruce OPP report impaired drivers; and collision involving school bus
TRAFFIC STOP RESULTS IN SEVERAL CHARGES

(HURON-KINLOSS, ON) - April 27, at approximately 12:55 a.m., a member of the South Bruce OPP stopped to check a vehicle along Campbell Street in Lucknow.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Thomas BRINDLEY, 46, of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh, was charged with:
 
  • Operation while Impaired, CC 320.14(1)(a)
  • Failure or refusal to comply with demand, CC 320.15(1)
  • Resist peace officer, CC 129(a)
  • Obstruct peace officer, CC 129(a)
  • Possession of a schedule I substance - methamphetamine, CDSA 4(1)
  • Have care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available, CCA 12(1)

The accused is set to appear at the Walkerton Court of Justice, May 28, to answer to the charges.

DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED AFTER COLLISION

(BROCKTON, ON) - April 25, at 6:32 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a motor vehicle collision along Bruce County Road 3 in the Municipality of Brockton.

On arrival, officers observed that a single motor vehicle had entered the ditch. The investigating officer detected signs of impairment from the involved driver. The driver was placed under arrest and transported for further testing.

Michael VAUGHAN, 56, of the Municipality of Brockton was charged with: Impaired Operation (80 plus), CC 320.14(1)(b).

The accused is set to appear in the Walkerton Court of Justice, May 28.

COLLISION INVOLVING SCHOOL BUS RESULTS IN CHARGE

(KINCARDINE, ON) - April 25, at 3:18 p.m., the South Bruce OPP responded to a collision involving a school bus and a cyclist along Russell Street in Kincardine.

Officers responded and discovered that a student operating a bicycle was struck by a school bus. The student had minor injuries and did not require immediate medical attention.

The driver, a 73-year-old resident of Howick, has been charged with Careless driving, HTA 130(1).
