Kincardine Home and Garden Expo draws about 2,000 people
Nearly 2,000 people attended the Kincardine Home and Garden Expo held on the weekend, at the Davidson Centre.

Hosted by the Kincardine and District Chamber of Commerce, the event showcased about 40 exhibitors on the arena floor, including everything from blinds, appliances and furniture, to decks, irrigation, siding and landscaping.

Another 25 exhibitors were set up at a marketplace in the gymnasium, featuring arts and crafts, treats and spices, and a number of community groups and organizations.

The opening ceremonies saw the St. Anthony’s School Band perform “O Canada,” followed by a welcome from chamber president Chris Turcotte, and greetings from Kincardine mayor Kenneth Craig.

The show also featured presentations and entertainment, including a robot demonstration by the Kinetic Knights Robotics Team, face-painting by Lisa Leyes, live music on stage, Fit Body Boot Camp, and a free swim.

New this year were learning sessions, held Saturday in the Penetangore Room, featuring such topics as Additional Residential Units, Emergency Preparedness, Composting, Small Meadows Community tiny homes, and Kincardine Fire Safety.
