POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN WOODSPLITTER

(ELDERSLIE TWP, ON) – Dec. 30, at 5:38 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from a residence along Mill Crescent in Elderslie Township.

Sometime between 9 p.m. Dec. 29, and 5 a.m., Dec. 30, an orange Built Tuff woodsplitter, with white-rimmed wheels, was taken from the yard. The value of the stolen splitter is estimated to be $1,000.

MAKE SURE IT’S CLEAR BEFORE IT’S IN GEAR

(SOUTHERN BRUCE COUNTY, ON) – The snowy winter weather has arrived in Southern Bruce County and the South Bruce OPP wants to see motorists prepared for winter driving.

Safe winter driving requires drivers slowing down and anticipating hazards before they become a problem. This can’t be done if the vehicle’s windows are covered in frost, snow or ice.

The Highway Traffic Act of Ontario provides a fine of $110 for motorists who choose to drive without a clear view, but the consequences can be far worse if you injure someone because you can’t see where you’re going.

Leave extra time to get to your destination in winter months and take the time to clear the vehicle windows for the benefit of all road users. “Make sure it’s clear before it’s in gear.”

The South Bruce OPP is requesting anyone with information that can assist police to call 1-888-310-1122.  Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or send a web-tip to crimestop-gb.org, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
