Kincardine Legion Corner
Bob Hogan won $737 in this week’s
Catch the Ace draw. He chose Envelope No. 3 which revealed the Two of Hearts. Be sure to get your tickets on-line or at any of our in-person locations. Make sure to follow our Catch the Ace Facebook page if you aren’t already, to keep up on winners and draws, as well as get reminders about getting your tickets bought each week. In addition, you can play in our “Russ in the Movies” weekly challenge, posted on Mondays. This past week we put Russ into the movie “The Matrix;” did you get that one?
At the
Saturday Meat Draw, we had eight distinct winners, with no double-dippers at all. Teri Leslie was the 50/50 draw winner, taking home $213. Congratulations to everyone! Come to the Meat Draw this Saturday and stay around for some live music with Greg Pahl, from 5-8 p.m.
As of today, there were still a few spots left for tomorrow’s
Trivia Night, Friday, May 23, so please check at the Legion Bar if you would like to register a team.
Bingo and Burgers last Thursday was a hit! Arrive a bit early to grab a delicious barbecued burger before Bingo starts. Just a reminder: you’re welcome to come for burgers even if you’re not planning on staying for Bingo.
We now have tickets for sale at the Legion Bar, for both of the following events:
- Sunday, July 20 - 2nd Annual Doug Kennedy Jersey Day Fund-raiser. This will be a great time, with all proceeds going to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation in Doug’s honour. Wear your jersey and come for some fun, food and socializing. This event has a 1 p.m. start time, and we will have some free afternoon entertainment by TNT Boom and Local Anesthesia. For the evening entertainment, we have The Ballaghs on stage, and tickets are $25 each for this part of the event. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the band starts at 7 p.m. Save the date, and come help us raise some money!
- Saturday, Sept. 27 - 3rd Annual Lulu’s Band Hootenanny. Tickets are $40 each. This is a popular one and will likely sell out, so get your tickets early, and come for some great tunes and dancing.
Once again, we ask the public’s help in reaching out to any veterans you may know and encourage them to attend our
Veterans’ Barbecue, Sunday, June 1, which is Canadian Armed Forces Day, from 2-4 p.m.
If you’re wondering what’s cooking for this
Sunday’s Family Dinner, it’s going to be hot beef sandwiches, by Jon Shaw, so you know it will be great. Plan to attend!
