South Bruce OPP report break-in; and workplace fatality

CHARGES LAID AFTER BREAK-AND-ENTER

(KINCARDINE, ON) - May 22, at 6:54 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a break-and-enter at a residence on Kincardine Avenue in Kincardine.

Officers attended and discovered that an individual had broken into a rear door to the residence to gain entry while occupants were inside. The suspect was placed into custody, without incident.

As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old resident of Kincardine was charged with:
 

• Break, enter a dwelling house - CC 348(1)(a)
• Fail to comply with probation order - CC 733.1(1)

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

POLICE INVESTIGATE WORKPLACE FATALITY

(BROCKTON, ON) - May 23, at approximately 6 a.m., the South Bruce OPP, Bruce County Paramedic Services, and Brockton Fire and Emergency Services responded to a workplace incident at an address along Concession 6 of Greenock Township.

Police attended the scene and discovered that an individual was trapped under a concrete wall.

As a result of the incident, a 37-year-old resident of Hanover was pronounced deceased.

Additionally, a 35-year-old resident of Arran-Elderslie was injured and transported to a London area trauma centre.

The Ontario Ministry of Labour has been notified and will continue the investigation.
